This picture gets me in a good mood! *happy*
The image feels lively with people moving about in the background. I especially like how a few are interacting with one another; very much a part of the moment, not there simply to supplement it.
It seems a bit strange that everyone else is a bit in the dark (then again, it can be said to be an artistic way of saying "focus on the ones lit" = ) ), but I love the backlighting effect you have given the central figures.
I also enjoy the fact you included windows that are not shining, even if it is difficult to determine they are there.
Not to mention ice skating is always fun, at least when you are on your feet, not your bum.
And I thankfully didn't fall once when we skated in union square - it was so much fun ^_^
